LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS

Whether it be an ICC led piece of legislation or one that involves many partners, Identity Clark County's ability to build coalitions and its funding of lobbyists representing the private sector has proven to be effective and of immeasurable benefit to Clark County, the region and the state.

Identity Clark County , the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia River Economic Development Council work closely in creating a very focused legislative agenda for each legislative session. ICC's Lobbyist Rick Wickman has successfully carried the torch for the Clark County business community for 10 years.

Successful lobbying efforts include: funding for local transportation projects and Columbia River Channel dredging, funding for continued growth and expansion of WSU/Vancouver and Clark College , elimination of sales tax on manufacturing equipment, sales tax credit and hotel/motel tax funding mechanisms for the Vancouver Convention Center .
